Mother-Daughter Knitters Unite!

Greetings from Mooshie's Knit Palace!

Crafts have been a part of my life since...well, since forever!  As a young adult I enjoyed embroidery and some quilting - crewel, cross stitch and Japanese Bunka, in particular.  My mother and my grandmother knitted and crocheted lovely blankets and clothing, and I picked up some basic techniques from them, although it really took my daughter, Elayna of ElaynaB Knits, to reawaken an interest in honing my knitting skills when she initially took up knitting as part of an independent high school project.  Thanks to her, I am now a total yarn-o-holic and I love being able to join forces with her at some shows and fairs as a partner in these D.a.MKnits!

Mooshie's Knit Palace was first established on Etsy on August 27, 2012 and the original name was "Sock the Puppet's Knitted Palace." The primary focus includes the following:

* Les Miserables Dolls
* Custom-Made Geocaching Dolls & Other Geocaching Knits
* Custom-Made Minions
* Fantasy Knits such as Gandalf & a George R.R. Martin doll

I also have oodles of plans for future projects, including:

* Game of Thrones Dolls & Accessories
* Walking Dead Dolls & Accessories
* Scooby Doo Characters & Accessories
* Retro TV Dolls, such as Happy Days, Welcome Back Kotter & Laverne & Shirley
* Dolls from more Broadway Musicals, such as Wicked, Phantom of the Opera & Man of La Mancha

Custom orders are also accepted.

Although my shop was originally a virtual Etsy endeavor only, in the past year business has expanded. For instance, Sock the Puppet's Knitted Palace's Geocaching items can now be purchased live and in person at the Space Coast Geocaching Store, located in Merritt Island, FL (http://shop.spacecoastgeocachers.com/). I also had a vendor's table at Pink Cheetah's Vintage's Endless Summer Mini-Mart 2013 in Seminole Heights, FL.  Many of my items were also available at Metrocon 2013, courtesy of ElaynaB Knits.

Mooshie's Knit Palace has also been featured in the following articles, under it's original shop name, "Sock the Puppet's Knit Palace:

Hello from ElaynaB Knits!

Hi everyone!

My mother and I have decided to start a blog together to combine the creative masterpieces of our two shops...that way, if we decide to complete an event together, we can register as one unit.

My name's Elayna...and I am the founder and creative mastermind behind the shop ElaynaB Knits. I currently have experience of running a booth at three separate events (Swampcon, Pink Cheetah Village, and Metrocon), and plan to hopefully do at least one event every season. My next convention will be in Jacksonville, FL at Wasabicon, while I'm also looking to do other conventions in the future as well.

Currently, I am accepting custom orders while I am also listing new items on my shop's website...so stay up to date with all of that! In my shop, I accept paypal and credit card.

Now, to finish off my first post, here's a list of items that I am thinking of producing in up and coming conventions. Take a look and let me know if you like any of these ideas, okay? Okay.

New Potential Items:

  • Adventure Time
  • Castiel (Supernatural) Chibis
  • Super Mario Bros
  • Legend of Zelda
  • Attack on Titan
  • Avatar: Legend of Korra
  • Animal Crossing
  • Large Doll Collection
Of course I have many items already listed in my shop...so feel free to check those out as well!

Thanks for stopping by!
